This event brought together independent watchmakers, celebrating their expertise, passion and dedication to the Art of measuring time, as well as enamellers, engravers, gem setters, chamferers, jewellers, watch strap makers, etc…. whose skills are essential to Fine Watchmaking.
By choosing Yverdon-les-Bains as its venue, the Swiss Watchmaking Festival has linked the watchmaking regions of Switzerland and France, part of the Arc Horloger (Swiss and French Watchmaking Arc), and listed in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at UNESCO.
The show attracted a well-informed public interested in all aspects of the watchmaking industry. A public of professionals and future watchmakers – since watchmaking training establishments were also among the exhibitors – but also of watchmaking enthusiasts ‘off the beaten track of the major brands’, who crowded around the exhibitors’ stands.
The 4 AHCI exhibitors, members or candidate: Vincent Calabrese (Switzerland), Marco Guarino (Italy-candidate), Ludek Seryn (Czech Republic) and Michael Guo Ming (China-candidate) were delighted to present their creations to the curious and astonished public, who were able to meet watchmakers from further afield at this Swiss Festival. Through their creations, they were able to demonstrate that watchmaking can also be associated with excellence beyond the Swiss and French Watchmaking Arc. The AHCI’s reputation would be enhanced by its presence at such events.
