Johannes was born in April 1993.

He began his watchmaking career in 2010 with the start of a three-year watchmaking apprenticeship in Glashütte.  There, Johannes gained both theoretical and practical knowledge of the craft. After successfully completing his apprenticeship in 2013, he joined the renowned watch manufacturer A. Lange & Söhne.

He initially worked on smaller calibres, such as the calibre 093.1 Saxonia Thin, before moving on to the legendary Lange 1. His skills and expertise quickly became evident, leading to him taking over the team leadership of the Lange 1 department at the young age of just 23.

Alongside his work as department head, he completed training as a master watchmaker, during which he independently handcrafted the distinguished “Meisterwerk”.

In 2021, Johannes transitioned to the chronograph assembly department at Lange. The following year, he resigned and decided to start his own business, Kallinich Claeys, with Thibault Claeys. Ultimately, it was the recognition of the “Meisterwerk” and the experience he gained in its creation that played a significant role in Johannes Kallinich’s decision to establish himself as an independent watchmaker.

In 2022, Johannes, the creative force and visionary behind the project, introduced the EINSER wristwatch for Kallinich Claeys — a timepiece that immediately garnered significant attention. With bold new design lines, innovative concepts, and a seamless fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern movement architecture, he helped lay a new foundation for independent German watchmaking. The result is a striking synthesis of heritage and progressive engineering.
